Welcome to my New Life After Work
Greetings!
I recently retired after 40+ years working in various positions in the public service. Since retirement I have learned new things about myself and am learning about how to live in retirement. I have also had several surprises! This blog is a way to share those thoughts with others, and hopefully to receive feedback and advice from people who are experiencing the same things.
I will not usually be discussing the financial aspects of retirement - there are lots of blogs, websites, and books out there that address financial topics. Rather, I hope to explore practical advice and thoughts on what happens to us emotionally and physically when we retire.
To get started, a few of the surprises:
I hope to gain a few followers who will join me in this journey to a new life!

To get started, a few of the surprises:
- Immediately after retirement I had many nights of anxiety dreams about having to adhere to a specific schedule.
- I discovered I actually DO like cooking dinner - just not so much after a full day of work.
- As many other retirees have said, I seem to be very busy and wonder how I had time for work.
- I don't miss work. I was definitely ready to move on to this new life.
- New opportunities started to open up for me almost immediately (more about that later).
- I was exhausted immediately after I finished work and slept a lot for the first few weeks.
I hope to gain a few followers who will join me in this journey to a new life!

I love it! And I look forward to all your thoughts as I look ahead to retiring. I love your header and colours!
